What This Activity Teaches

Number Calculator is designed for Ben's love of "smushing numbers together" and discovering what happens. This calculator supports numbers up to 999,999,999,999 (999 billion) and teaches number reading, number sense, and the joy of mathematical exploration.

1. BIG Numbers (Up to 999 Billion)

Ben can create numbers as large as he wants (up to 12 digits). The calculator formats them with commas (e.g., 123,456,789) so he can see how numbers are grouped in thousands, millions, and billions.

2. Number Reading with Text-to-Speech

Every number is displayed both numerically and as words. When Ben presses the 🔊 Say It! button (or presses 'S'), the calculator reads the number aloud. This teaches:
